Cuba is a beautiful country and people are extraordinary. Elli Lumina had the chance visit the island in 2010 and listen to dozens of its inhabitants about their views of the country, the politics, their hopes and fears for the future. The situation is often described as black and white and so are part of Elli’s pictures. But the situation she found is far from being black and white. At the contrary, she found a very differentiated view of Cubans about their situation. What deeply impressed her are the values of people, value we have lost decades ago, like honesty, modesty, reliability, hospitality and joy – sharing their own happiness with you. Her pictures want to show a world that will fade slowly with the end of the embargo.
